Dr. Baker-Pitts is a faculty member, supervisor, and a co-director of the Training Program at The Women’s Therapy Centre Institute in New York (www.wtci-nyc.org), which offers training to mental health professionals in feminist relational psychoanalytic psychotherapy. This postgraduate program integrates trauma, feminist, object relations, and social theories in its treatment model for addressing eating problems and a range of body-based symptoms.
After serving for nine years as book review editor of Eating Disorders Journal of Treatment and Prevention, Catherine has stayed on as a member of its editorial board (www.gurze.com). She is also a guest editor of Sexualities. In 1999, she was the youngest professional to join the Board of The American Anorexia and Bulimia Association, and in 2001 she was a founding member of the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA)(www.nationaleatingdisorders.org). She currently serves on NEDA’s Scientific Clinical Advisory Board, and is a professional member of the Association for Size Diversity & Health (ASDAH) (www.sizediversityandhealth.org).
